Animal Insides Disclosure Statement Given the business of digital radiography, teleradiology, and veterinary imaging we, as members or owners of Insight Radiology, DVMinsight, VICSD, and Shadowsmiths, must, from time to time, enter into business relationships with vendors and other business partners. These relationships are disclosed in this web page. Any and all of our busines partners have a full and complete understanding that the business relationship will not require kickbacks or orther unethical forms of compensation AND the relationship will not serve to infuence the advice given during the Animal Inisides Prepurchase Consultation Service. Animal Insides: Animal Insides offers advertising opportunity on the Animal Insides website as well as through the SHOWDOWN DVD. To see the current advertisers, please peruse the Animal Insides website and/or order a SHOWDOWN DVD. From time to time, we are given software to review and try and keep. We received copies of DICOM viewers from Genesis, Sorna, and AVT. The presence of an advertisement on Animal Insides is not necessarily an endorsement of the vendor or product. From time to time, we are asked to give speaking engagements at VMA meetings, national meetings, or vendor sponsored meetings. Vendors may sponsor these paid speaking engagements but the content of the talk is not modified for a particular vendor. Vendors sponsored engagements include Webster, Idexx, Western Vet Conference, Central Veterinary Conference, Sound Technologies, and Custom X-ray. All vendors are encouraged to advertise with Animal Insides and have us out for a speaking engagement. Fovea took us out to dinner, once, to discuss their products. Idexx took me out to dinner once but that was to flog me. That probably does not count. DVMinsight: DVMinisght is an image archival business and ASP for veterinary radiologists. All vendors are encouraged to offer the DVMinsight service to their clients as an option to archive their images remotely. We have received referrals from Universal Medical Systems, VJ Medical Systems, Idexx, Webster, and several local x-ray distributors. These clients do not receive special pricing and vendors do not recieve any kickbacks or preferential treatment in the Animal Insides Consultation Service. Radinfosystems provided us with a copy of their web viewer in exchange for an advertising opportunity on Animal Insides. Shadowsmiths: none Insight Radiology: none VICSD:From time to time, we purchase equipment to run our imaging center. Recently we purchased a Toshiba ultrasond machine for no discount that I am aware of, a used AGFA CR system (the discount was debatable as the machine was VERY used although we did receive a free software upgrade recently), a Sedecal x-ray machine (a possible discount so the would not have to move the machine after the SHOWDOWN one year, and a used Picker MRI and CT machine (no discount). Ultrasound courses are also held at VICSD. Vendors pay to hold the courses at VICSD and the VICSD radiologists may be paid to instruct the courses. Vendors offering courses at VICSD include Universal, Vetimaging.com, and Sound Vision. All ultrasound vendors are encouraged to participate in the AAVR courses at VICSD. VICSD was offered a trial of the Terra Recon Aquarius Package which is expired. VICSD also leases out CR systems to veterinarians in our local area. These systems are purchased at no discount that any other distributor could receive but the package we put together is better than any other distributor could provide. The type of CR machine will change depending on what is available and the price. If you are a vet in San Diego, call us for more information. This package is for locals only. Sorry. At Animal Insides we take this issue of full disclosure VERY seriously. Our self imposed disclosure policy has lead to many exciting and sometimes humorous encounters with vendors who tried to "encourage" us to bend the rules. This disclosure statment is made voluntarily so you can make an informed decision regarding the use of the information found on this website as well as the prepurchase consultation service. To our knowlege it is complete. If there is a conflict of interest or other issue that arises during a consultation or in any article on this website, that will be disclosed during the consult or in the web article. |
