BALTIMORE—SimonDR, a producer of DR imaging equipment, announced today that it has expanded its DRV product line to include integrated PACS options. The picture archiving and communication system (PACS) is standard for the interoperability and storage of medical imaging and typically supports the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) image format. DRV will now offer the option to include 1TB of image storage which also includes both diagnostic and clinical review software licenses. Jason Simon, SimonDR’s President, said, "This software enhancement is important because it allows purchasers of our veterinary DR imaging solution to have a single supplier to help them transition to digital imaging." He added, "We believe that the market is rapidly evolving towards this type of solution. We have been watching the development of several products designed specifically for our market and after a careful selection process we have asked American Medical Sales (“AMS”) to partner with us. In addition to their superior software, we are very pleased with the ability and willingness of AMS to modify their products to our requirements.” “We are honored to have been selected by SimonDR,” stated Daniel Giesberg, President of American Medical Sales. “A critical factor in the success of this venture will be SimonDR’s extensive relationship with the independent x-ray dealer honed over 50 years of support to this vital distribution channel. The fact that AMS writes and supports its PACS software here in the United States means that there is no question that AMS will provide the technical support necessary to make sure each SimonDR installation is successful as it relates to the PACS implementation.” About Simon DR: SimonDR DRV provides fast, unparalleled imaging through direct radiography. From a leader in analog radiology for more than 50 years, SimonDR is lighting the way to the future of veterinary digital radiography. SimonDR is a spin-off from H. R. Simon and Company, an ISO9001 registered U.S. corporation with five decades of history and expertise in manufacturing medical and industrial imaging chemicals. About AMS and Catella®: For over 50 years AMS has specialized in medical image display and storage. Today this means digital imaging, PACS, workstations, archives, digitizers, web viewing, etc. Those seeking cost-effective, no-nonsense answers to this new radiology reality use AMS Catella PACS systems and appliances. AMS is also grounded in the "film" radiology world. AMS is one of the largest sources for x-ray illuminators, motorized viewers, darkroom products, safelights, cassettes, film and more.
