AMS ANNOUNCES NEW PACS SOLUTION FOR SMALL PRACTICES
PACS provider American Medical Sales, Inc. will display two new PACS products at this month's RSNA in Chicago, IL. This press release introduces Image Vault.
A leader in PACS systems for mid to large sized practices, AMS has watched as physicians have been adopting CR and DR technology into smaller and smaller practices. Image Vault addresses the smallest segment of the digital market by providing a true full function PACS at an appropriately scaled down price. A hardware/software solution, Image Vault is housed in an all-in-one computer. It includes diagnostic workstation software, an image gateway, an automated image back-up system and a PACS archive. The user interface is simplified via Image Vault’s touch screen, and security is addressed via a fingerprint security key and automated logoff.
“The small user has either gone without PACS or has tried to patch some rudimentary system together. Image Vault provides a proper solution,” observed Daniel Giesberg, President of American Medical Sales.
Image Vault is offered at under $8,000. It can literally be pulled out of its shipping box and plugged into a modality; it is then ready to receive images. Image back-up is provided via a removable USB hard drive. CD’s of images for patients or referring physicians can also be burned.
“Why are so many distributors and users happy with AMS PACS? When you write and own the software, this translates into more flexible and affordable solutions and better service”, Giesberg concluded
About AMS and Catella®: American Medical Sales, Inc. celebrates its 53rd anniversary in 2007. Originally a leader in film-based display systems, AMS introduced its Catella line of PACS solutions in 1998. Its “voice activated” technology broke new ground in the PACS application. Components offered include diagnostic, review, and web-based workstations, archives up to 95TB including automatic back-up protection, Walk-Away™ digitizer stations, CD/DVD recorders and printers, MS Word®-based transcription software and hardware, and specialty router and gateway systems. AMS works with local distributors to provide solutions to a wide range of users.
