| Results of the 2008 SHOWDOWN |

To help provide objective information about the different digital products, digital radiography vendors were invited to put their products to the test. This testing included obtaining a series of test images, evaluation of their software offerings, and validating their images for DICOM conformance. Participation in the SHOWDOWN was entirely voluntary and open to all vendors. The following vendors participated in 2008:
Get the Free SHOWDOWN DVD: Vendors were asked to obtain a series of test images of several animals in a controlled situation. These images are made available to the veterinary community to help compare the image quality from the different systems. These images are NOT rated, judged, or otherwise ranked for image quality. The DICOM validation segment of the SHOWDOWN is designed to help guarantee that vendor claims of DICOM compliance are accurate. To see the results of the DICOM validation please click here. View the SHOWDOWN testing matrix: This year we conducted a "consumer reports" type of evaluation where standard criteria about each of the software offerings from the different systems were evaluated. These systems are NOT rated, judged, or otherwise ranked. Each system is different and veterinarians must evaluate the merits of the different systems for their particular situation.
